Parmesan Knots Recipe
Easy and delicious! Just take advantage of everyday refrigerated biscuit dough.
Ingredients for this recipe:
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1-1/2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
- 1-1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder dash pepper
- 3 cans (12 oz. each) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
Instructions for this recipe:
- Combine oil, parsley, oregano, garlic powder and pepper in a small bowl and set aside.
- Cut each biscuit in half.
- Roll each portion into a rope (about 6 inches) and tie into a loose knot. Spray a cooking sheet with no stick spray and line the knots up on this. Bake 6 to 8 minutes at 400 degrees F or until golden brown.
- Brush hot knots with the Parmesan mixture when they come out of the oven.
- Very good served warm!
Blue Cheese Dip Recipe
Ingredients for this recipe:
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
- 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled
Instructions for this recipe:
- Mix together all the ingredients and process in blender or food processor until well blended and ready for dipping.
- Serve with your cracker and veggie platter.
- Also makes a yummy sandwich spread for those leftover turkey sandwiches!
Honey Garlic Crock Spare Ribs Recipe
Great for your New Year's party or any winter get together!
Ingredients for this recipe:
- 3 pounds pork spare ribs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- garlic salt to taste
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions for this recipe:
- Brown the spareribs and drain off the fat.
- It is not necessary to thoroughly cook spareribs just brown them. Transfer to the slow cooker.
- Mix the other ingredients together and pour over top of the ribs.
- Cook on high setting for 4 to 5 hours or on the low setting for 8 to 10 hours.
- Can also be made in the oven baked approximately 45 minutes at 350 degrees F.
The Luck of the Irish Recipe
Many believe that cabbage will bring wealth in the New Year. Here's a traditional New Year's Day meal that will warm you up and hopefully bring you luck in the coming year.
Ingredients for this recipe:
- 1 5-pound corn beef brisket with spice packet
- 6 potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1 large head of green cabbage, cut into wedges
Instructions for this recipe:
- Open spice packet and rub spices onto the brisket.
- Be sure to coat both sides.
- Place brisket in a large cooking pot and cover completely with cold water.
- On high heat bring water to a rapid boil.
- Once boiling reduce heat to medium low, cover pot and simmer brisket for approximately 3 hours.
- Remove lid and place quartered potatoes in pot.
- Recover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes until potatoes are almost fork tender.
- Remove lid from pot and place cabbage wedges on top.
- Simmer uncovered for approximate 15 minutes or until cabbage and potatoes are at desired tenderness.
Stuffed Grape Leaves Recipe
This is a great appetizer and not as hard to make as it sounds.
Ingredients for this recipe:
- 3/4 cup chopped green olives
- 3/4 cup chopped kalamata olives
- 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
- 3/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts
- 5 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves
- 4 Roma (plum) tomatoes, seeded and chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 3 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh garlic
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- Salt and pepper
- 1 (8 ounce) jar grape leaves packed in brine
Instructions for this recipe:
- Once everything is chopped and crumbled put it in a big mixing bowl and toss with salt and pepper to taste.
- You want to chop everything small and fine because you want them to come out bite sized for appetizers.
- Lay each grape leaf flat and spoon some of the mixture to the middle. Roll them up and stick with an appetizer toothpick to hold.
- Keep in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Orange Glazed Carrots Recipe
Ginger not only livens up so many recipes but it also is used to ward off colds and flu!!
Ingredients for this recipe:
- 1 pound of fresh or thawed frozen baby carrots
- 1/3 cup of orange marmalade
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 teaspoons of Dijon style mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon of grated fresh ginger
Instructions for this recipe:
Cook carrots in saucepan and drain or steam them, whichever you prefer.
Return carrots to saucepan and stir in the butter, mustard, marmalade and ginger.
Mix well.
Simmer on medium setting stirring frequently until carrots are glazed.
Ham and Cabbage Recipe
What a great way to use that left over ham after the holidays.
Ingredients for this recipe:
- Leftover ham cut into large chunks (you can toss bone and all into the pot if you want)
- 1 large onion, quartered
- 6 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 8 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 bunch fresh parsley
- 1 head cabbage, cut into quarters
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions for this recipe:
- Start by putting ham in the stew pot (or in your crock pot!).
- Cover with water or broth. Add other ingredients and stir it all up.
- Bring to a boil and cook for 20 minutes, then allow simmering for an hour or two or until ready to eat.
- If you are using your crock-pot you should cook on high 4 hours or low 8 hours.
- Use a slotted spoon to strain liquid off when scooping onto plates. Season with salt and pepper to taste when ready to eat.
